MISSION STATEMENT
To provide an opportunity for any person in the Town of Richmond Hill, to play organized soccer at recreational and competitive levels for both indoor and outdoor and to assist all participants in reaching their potential through the development of players, coaches, referees and administrators.
The Richmond Hill Soccer Club is the largest recreational club in the town of Richmond Hill. Over 5600 members are currently playing soccer for the RHSC and 92% of the club's members are under the age of 19.
The RHSC is a non-profit organization run by a board of directors who are elected by the members of the club at our Annual General Meeting.
The mission of the RHSC is to provide an opportunity for any person in the Town of Richmond Hill to play organized soccer at recreational and competitive levels for both indoor and outdoor and to assist all participants in reaching their potential.
The RHSC now provides year round development programs for referees, players, and coaches. Some of these educational programs include speed and goal keeping clinics, harassment and sport injuries seminars, outdoor and indoor player camps.
A professional staff is now employed to oversee and coordinate the programs of the RHSC. Bob Munro, hired in 1996, is the Club's Head Coach and Technical Director. Bob's credentials and experience are international in scope and stature.
The RHSC is a major site for Ontario Cup, League Cup games and tournaments. In 1996 the RHSC ran the first Richmond Hill Challenge Cup tournament. The Challenge Cup is now one of Ontario's premier tournaments with teams coming from all over Canada and the United States. Over 160 teams competed in the 2000 Challenge Cup.
RHSC teams and players have achieved tremendous success on the soccer field. Most notably, Sarah Barradas who also represented Team Canada at the 1999 Summer Pan American Games where she won the Golden Boot Award for most goals scored during the Games.
The RHSC also has girls and boys on the Ontario provincial teams and York Region teams. Several RHSC players have received soccer scholarships to US Colleges.
The RHSC has produced winning teams throughout its illustrious history. In the last three years the RHSC has had 5 teams reach the finals of both the Indoor and Outdoor Ontario Cups. Several RHSC girls' teams have reached the CGSL finals and numerous boys and girls rep and select teams have won their respective divisions.
The RHSC strives to be a leader in community soccer development and to this end is continually looking for new partnerships and programs. The RHSC currently enjoys strong relationships with more than 150 team sponsors.
Off the field the RHSC enjoys strong working relationships with the
